I watched The Devil Wears Prada for the first time about a month ago and I thought it was about the intern learning that Streep's character was literally a demon. Basically The Devil's Advocate.

God damn!! Out of the big tempole films that's coming out this summer.. don't be surprised if Lilo and Stitch will be the first film in 2025 to grosse over a billion dollars worldwide, it just proves that kids and families don't pay attention to film social media and when they see trailers, ads and billboards and posters on buses for this.. the kids will be like oh lets go and see this and the parents will be like yeah sure.. I know a few friends with kids saw the first trailer for this and they were immediately in and that made me go oh shit this is gonna make serious bank!

Sounds about right from what I’ve seen on threads. People are not happy about how that one came out.

    Ok a tangled web but:

I am watching the vampire film Pale Blood (1990) and the lead fucking sucks. I look him up, he’s George Chakiris from West Side Story/The Young Girls of Rochefort. Anyway he looks fuckin crazy and he is reminding me of flicking through HBO as a kid and seeing Sarah Jessica Parker with some old fuck on Sex and the City. So I look that guy up to make a joke on my Letterboxd review and it’s fucking Mikhail Baryshnikov? Baryshnikov played Carrie’s boyfriend on Sex and the City? I don’t even really know who Baryshnikov is but I know the name as a legendary dancer. My mind is fucking blown, I feel like I thought he lived in the 1800s.

Anyway I look into him and he had a kids’ cartoon on PBS in the 90s and Jim Belushi did voices on it.

Pale Blood, 1990, worth a watch for Wings Hauser!

Might see it tomorrow since around here it seems slightly easier to get tickets to than Mission Impossible in IMAX.

Are you writing reviews and not posting them in the review thread?

Yes. The gratification of a letterboxd review outweighs that of a chorus like

Re the rest of your post: I have not seen Pale Blood, I dont know who Gerorge Chakirirs is, I have not seen West Side Story or The Young Girls of Rochefort, I have not seen the Sex and the City Episodes where Sarah Jessica Parker was with fucking Mikhail Baryshikov, I also did not know who Mikhail Baryshikov was but have since googled it and he does look like a really good dancer.

Some of those blind spots are bigger than others, but thank you for your response. I see now why you only responded about Letterboxd

I don’t see a Lilo & Stitch thread, but I saw it yesterday and it genuinely might be my favorite film of the year so far, ahead of thunderbolts and sinners.

  18. I don't think I can go see the film knowing it so drastically changes the themes from the original

It seemed pretty aligned with the themes of the animated film to me. They took out some scenes but it’s pretty much the same movie overall when it comes to the message

  20. I don't see how Nani leaving Lilo is ohana means family

I liked the change that Nani went to the marine biology camp. Nani also keeps one of the teleportation guns and in the mid credit scene uses it to visit Lilo.
