Loved Eephus.

Oh, huh. I loved it. Kinda felt in retrospect like the only way the movie could’ve ended. Desperately trying to hold onto time, to a moment, until it’s past its time and runs out… and then it’s just the end. Melancholy as heck, in such a relatable way (even though I’m not personally a sporty kinda bitch; the feeling it captures is a universal one, especially as one gets older).

 

This will make me watch it. I was interested anyway but didn't really prioritize it because I don't give two shits about baseball.

 

Oh totally! I just wanted the boys to celebrate at the bar. The ending is way more fitting to the overall theme and mood.

 

I care about baseball in the sense that I played for years and know how it feels for time to pass in the game, but it is so much more than that. A really special film. Maybe it’s because I am in the midst of teaching it, but it reminds me of the melancholic end to The Great Gatsby. Add on to that some beautiful Northeast Fall cinematography, I loved it.
