Yeah, this is ridiculous. Really wonder how much studios are making on VOD, but we’ll never know because they don’t have to report it.

I don’t check out goodwill/thrift stores often but I don’t feel like I’ve ever found good media there.

I find good used stuff at Vintage Stock but it’s not usually much cheaper than new.

thrift store quality depends on your community and their taste in items that have been donated

We have a local chain around here called the exchange which rules for buying any sort of used media.

Vintage Stock can occasionally come in handy for some rarer stuff, although most of it is DVD and not Blu-ray/UHD. grabbed Wild at Heart there for $5 a couple years ago.

I found Kundun and a live Ramones bootleg DVD at goodwill a summer or two ago

My vintage stock has a good amount of criterion stuff and 4K so there’s at least SOME good taste around here

there were several Sam Raimi 4Ks last time I was there and it made me think someone was a fan of blank check lol

I actually got a buy 2 get 1 free coupon but it says dvd/blu ray, if it applies to 4K I’ll be doing that this weekend

they also have am offshoot called EntertainMART that's more focused on movies and music than Vintage Stock, and they've got a decent used Blu/4K selection. surprisingly lots of steelbooks too if that's anyone's thing. picked up the Criterion version of A Hard Day's Night from them for my dad a couple years back.

Just spotted Kundun at my local library. I guess I need a dvd player though.

Check with the library. They might even lend out DVD players.

If not, they're usually pretty plentiful at thrift stores.

I hope post-credit scenes never go away, because I love the idea of nerds suffering from having to sit through the credits for that proverbial last drop of milkshake.
