I saw a poster for Servant when I walked by a bus stop in Philly. It was a poster for the series premiere. Problem is, the 3rd season ended like a month before I saw it.

It is often overlooked compared to the ones that came out around the same time but Day of the Baphomets is such a fun song.

I don’t think I’ve ever thought much about the fact that studios make money on trailers in the streaming age. I wonder how those revenues get distributed to actors, trailer editors etc (I’m guessing it just doesn’t). Though I doubt it’s a huge amount of revenue.

Have you read any of the major, like, indie cartoonists’ great comics works? I make hit and run references here often, lol, but I really think everyone with “taste” or whatever who can enjoy the comics medium should give Love and Rockets by Los Bros Hernandez a go.

Also, I forget, are you interested in the James Gunn Superman at all? I think it’s gonna be really cool and fun in a way most of these cape movies haven’t been for me in forever.

I used to read more indie/non-superhero comics (and more comics in general). I read stuff like Maus, Persepolis, and Craig Thompson in college, I considered putting Blankets with my top comics but it’s been over a decade since I read it.

I’m interested in Gunn Superman but my general interest in superhero stories has slid down my priorities. But I like Superman as a character so much that Gunn Superman is probably the most intrigued I am by anything superhero-movie related post-2019 (RIP alleged Ta-Nehisi Coates Superman script)

    Persepolis fucking rules.

Blankets was one of the books that got me back and more seriously into comics, alongside Saga and the Fraction/Aja/etc Hawkeye. Weirdly, Hawkeye is the one that’s aged the best for me, lol. I loved Blankets at the time, but I fear it wouldn’t hold up if I reread it. Sure was an important step to other works for me, though.

I read Saga and Sex Criminals weekly when I was buying comics and loved them, though I eventually fell off both when I stopped going to the comic store around 2018-19? But yes I loved the the Fraction Hawkeye too, it was my introduction to him and why I got into Sex Criminals.
