Is there a musicals thread? I've never been much of a musicals girly or even a theater kid, but Hadestown looks interesting, so I wanna give it a listen. Funny thing, tho, what got me to start looking into it was I saw a tiktok of a random girl on an airport flat escalator dancing/lip syncing to Eurydice's part on Wait for Me (reprise) and I've been watching every clip I come across of that part being performed, it's been stuck in my head for days

 

All I know about Hadestown is that Anais Mitchell has released some cool records recently, I haven't seen or heard the musical though

 

I've seen the films for Les Mis and Sweeney Todd a long time ago, and In the Heights, Mean Girls and Wicked more recently. I have not seen Rent or West Side Story. The only Broadway cast recording I've listened to so far is Hamilton, tho

tbh part of the appeal of Hadestown is the Greek mythology of it all bc I'm a big fan of the Hades video game(s)
