Yeah no interest in that slop. My wife had us put on the Cruella one because she heard it was good. I guess it was the best out of them? Beauty and the Beast was boring as hell

Barbie apparently tested poorly too as reported by this same outlet so we'll see. Obviously it will be good (it's PTA) but I am hoping that it does well (maybe a OUATIH sized hit)

From an outside perspective, it shouldn't be that way at at all. As someone who works on new films however, for the level of indie films I work in, it absolutely does matter.

Sometimes it is part of their contracts, but not always. That being said, I have worked with actors with contractual guarantees regarding social media participation and they don't follow through, so it's not always black and white

 

I’m surprised more celebrities don’t just hire a social media manager to post Getty photos and screenshots of Deadline articles with a generic “can’t wait to get to work!” caption. Don’t even need to follow anyone, just pure promo

I hated the Cruella movie. But I also think a sympathetic backstory to the villain that wants to skin puppies for a coat was needed. When the villain is that cartoonishly evil, I really don’t care how they got that way.

Also the British accents were atrocious.

 

I thought Cruella was a fun bad movie. Felt like everyone was in on the joke

 

Just saw Queen of the Ring. Pretty good time at the movies imo. Nothing too special, had too much story that it times really rocketed through to its detriment. But, Emily Bett Rickards as a fiery old-timey wrestler is a good hook for me, personally.

I know there are a few celebrities who keep their socials completely blank except when they have a project their obligated to promote, and then when the marketing campaign is over they wipe it again. Bo Burnham and Pheobe Bridgers are like that.

 

If the vibe of the trailer feels like a thing you could enjoy, I think you’ll like it? Rickards was as good as I hoped in it; I’d love to see her do more things.
