I only did it because I’d had surgery and my body wasn’t strong enough to carry a drum yet. I had a blast though

I must be a weird one because I find music theory to be limiting and I prefer not to refer to it otherwise I'll start second guessing what I write....

...except when I'm lacking inspiration and I'm like "let's see what this would sound like in this mode etc", which unlocks possibilities I usually wouldn't come up with as I'm stuck in my ways chord progression and rhythmic pattern wise

So perhaps it's not that limiting, I'm just using it wrong lol

 

I use it as a structure to start experimenting on top of. To make a crazy car, first I build a car and then I make it crazy. It's easier to start off at a more advanced stage where I can start having fun sooner instead of trying to reinvent the wheel everytime.

 

I like the sound of this. I'll have to try approaching it this way.

I am rewatching Avatar for the first time since 2009 and then I am “diving” into Way of Water this week. It’s funny how in the first Avatar, some things still look amazing and other things have not aged well. It seems like there were some inconsistencies on where Cameron and the animators wanted realistic perfection. You go from a scene that just looks magical and real and then there’s a CGI pandora dog that looks like a ps3 game

I never did even try to learn that one. I felt quite accomplished with Seven Nation Army, though.

Just finished my Burn Notice rewatch now. Man, things happened so fast in the last season, and the last episode especially. And I had completely forgot how it ended, including the one big death that caught me by surprise because I had forgotten.

Definitely can see some holes in the story the last couple of seasons that coulda been solved if the characters just acted a little more rational, but they didn’t simply for the sake of the story. But still what a fun show. No offense to suits but the wrong USA Network show got rebooted.

I found this out by finding my (fathers' side) grandparents' marriage records. I told my mother and then found out that she doesn't even know my grandmothers' maiden name. Maybe I could even double dip.
