Looks like we are getting 2 UFO related films in 2026 by the looks of things

The Rock will be the lead as well in the movie. He’s playing a Frank Costello like mob boss.

As an actor, the Rock mostly sucks because he picks safe dogshit projects. I’d probably be entertained by a Goodfellas/Departed style crime film from Scorsese starring Dwayne Johnson, it’d probably be great, but out of Marty’s announced projects this is by far the least interesting

 

The rock is also just distractingly jacked so if he’s a mob boss wearing suits he’s gonna look funny

I haven’t watched it but doesn’t he wear suits in that Ballers show. He’s a sports agent or something. I think the bigger problem is he hasn’t proved he can act.

He was great in Ballers but my favourite acting performance of his is in Pain & Gain! We'll have to see if Benny Safdie gets that career defining performance out of him in The Smashing Machine.. I think he will and wouldn't be surprised if Marty actually watched a cut of the film first and then after that decided he wants to work with DJ and Emily Blunt

 

Emily Blunt clearly likes working with him, so hopefully there’s something actually there. Would I prefer someone else? Sure. But it’s interesting and if it’s actually nailed then that could be a pretty crazy movie.
