I mostly just remember the cartoon, maybe it was on Fox Kids, of the barnyard animals? Was it like 1/2 Garfield 1/2 that?

I literally just picked up a box of Calvin and Hobbes books today and it surprisingly included a stack of Bloom County books, a Far Side book, two mad magazines, a Close to Home book, Simpsons comic, and Get Fuzzy book. All for $15

I vaguely remember having one Bartman comic. I had a lot of Looney Tunes comics as a kid.

Yeah I am not feeling this

The Office should take place at a workplace whose product is so bland and boring that it is not a major driver of the plot. It's about the people who work there and the relationships they have with eachother, what they do is a distant afterthought. This feels like it's just going to be a sitcom about journalism.

I feel like if they were gonna do it it should have just been another branch of Dunder Mifflin from another part of the country or something... this just feels like an unrelated show they're putting the Office name on

Also "volunteers". Yeah I am sure people are going to see their own workplaces in the new version of one of the most relatable workplace comedies of all time now being about people who actually choose to be there everyday and don't have to be. That isn't undercutting one of The Office's biggest draws with the audience or anything.

  24. My hometown is the same size as Scranton and the local newspaper basically fits that description (not the volunteer thing, but certainly historic and dying). Would be really weird and fun to see a show set there.

    It's just branding then.

There was never anything special about the paper angle other than that it was a dying company and everyone knows it while they shuffle the chairs and wait for some sort of personal exit. It could have been a record store or a travel agency or many other things. Still, they had to be employees that felt sort of trapped.
