Glad Ava DuVernay spoke in solidarity with the press Disney blacklisted. Huge for someone to stand up to their employer.

It’s definitely worth it in these later months. I saw three movies last week, something I definitely couldn’t afford if I was paying the standard price. If I see twelve movies from October to December then it basically pays for itself for the whole year.

I got moviepass a couple of weeks ago. I'm very satisfied with it. If I see two movies a month it ends up being more than worth it.

MoviePass is paying the theaters full price, right? If there is no deal to lower the price, movie chains hating MoviePass makes less sense unless there is a situation where high-use members of MoviePass are keeping others out of sold-out screenings, people who might be likelier to buy concessions.

Yeah, they cover the full cost. To be quite honest, I don’t understand how it works in their favor at all.

It is like any other membership program; the company loses money on heavy users but profits over people who keep paying and barely use it. However, the only people who use this are heavy users so it is going to implode one day without some sort of partnership. It is not like a gym membership where you have to be a member to even go once a month; the light users that MoviePass would make money on just pay full price.

The Cinemark chains around here have a 20 dollar popcorn bucket that you can reuse for an entire year. There probably is someone out there who eats more than twenty dollars of popcorn in a year, but given the huge markup it is an easy way to get people to commit to coming back to their chain.

I'll ride this wave until their inevitable death lol. I'm sure they'll raise the cost to $15 a month eventually. They should have done that in the first place and I still would have paid.

I don't see them being sustainable for more than like a year, but that year will save me so much money so who cares

22 Jump Street: good or bad?

    I love that movie

Pretty funny, not as good as the first. Everything that has to do with Jillian Bell is awful, which is unfortunate because she’s actually really funny.

I enjoyed 22 Jump Street, but you can't really settle someone's opinion on a movie.

Jillian Bell was the only thing in 22JS that didn't work. Almost every joke about how old Schmidt looked fizzled

Probably the same for me. It was a packed crowd too, so you could really hear everybody
