Letterboxd will be adding TV shows this year

 

There was a women talking through the bomb scene in Oppenheimer. I was fuming, I sat there for a 30seconds trying to figure out what I should do. I wanted to tell her to stop talking but It was dark and her speech was moany and incoherent. Big chance shes disabled. The bombing and moany speech continues until theres enough flash to confirm shes not disabled.

I told her to shut up and she stopped but I did not emotionaly recover until well after the movie was over.

 

That shit is out of control and at least with the phones, it's not something I remember really having to deal with before the pandemic.

Truly don't understand why all theaters aren't like Alamo Draft House where they don't tolerate that it.

 

I saw a movie recently where someone was on their phone on speakerphone.

I'm in the process of making a new country where people like this will be banished.

 

I hope you super kicked them down the stairs.

 

Like, talking during concerts has gotten worse, too. Because fuck social norms, I guess

 

I was also just in a parking lot where some older woman was just parked in the middle of the road in front of my car so I couldn't back out even though there were like a dozen spaces open. Then when I got in my car she finally parked in one of the empty spots and her husband came out with a huge thing of Miller High Life.

People like this are also banished.

 

I don't like going to concerts anymore.

I want to get beer spilled on me on a Thursday night while some dumbass talks about their stupid, vapid life next to me while one of my favorite bands is playing? No, I think not.

 

They were with their kids and the kids were watching videos on a tablet too. They were quiet for large portions and then very annoying, then quiet and so on and so forth.

I understand people want to get out and can't always get a babysitter. Despite how I come off on this site, I'm not a complete asshole and I'm sympathetic to different situations people have. But at a certain point your sole enjoyment of something is ruining the experience for everyone.

Society norms are just be as rude as you want now. It's like all those dumb prank videos of people cutting headphones and stuff. Or any of the trash you see on Facebook stories or whatever. Just garbage humanity.

 

The kids can catch some sweet chin music too.

 

If it’s anything like our local AMC, I think they’re just lucky to have employees. They got rid of the ticket counter entirely and now the same person that checks tickets has to issue them for people that don’t have the app. They can barely clean the theater, let alone check on bad customers. It really sucks, but it’s kind of the way it is.

 

It’s gotten noticeably worse post-covid. People used to complain but now they seem resigned to it, like they know the pull is just too strong, especially for the younger generation.

I’ve complained about this elsewhere on the site, but it’s similar to people watching videos on their phones in public at full volume without headphones, which drives me crazy and seems way more common since the pandemic.

 

We need a pandemic that only targets assholes and they don't die, they just get hit with massive waves of shame and regret

 

Go actor, might be time to check out theatre

 

Ahh yes keeping your phone in your pocket during a play is definitely a terrible rule
