You'd be on a train twice the length of the film

 

right lol plus the cost of the train would be twice the movie ticket price. i'll wait until streaming.

 

tbh i’m not bending over backwards to see that one, specifically, lol. it can come to me.

 

There are already too many movies out simultaneously as is, I can't watch Iron Claw , Ferrari, and the Color Purple at the same time

 

that's a pessimistic view

 

did the math on my AMC A-List subscription, and after Sunday I will have gone to the movies 57 times in 2023

subscription cost - roughly $264
brings the average ticket cost to $4.65
29 of those were in either Dolby or IMAX

pretty good!

 

awards season should leave you pessimistic and overwhelmed lol

but seriously wasn't it nice last year when EEAAO was in the spring and Tar was in October , but also it is weird that I don't know when I'll see American Fiction I agree

 

Isn't Zone of Interest an awards film? At the latest they usually release the Friday after nominations come out.

 

idk when noms come out but it's allegedly been limited since 12/15 and will go wide on 1/7

 

it was in 6 locations this week, it's 2nd week of limited release, come on

 

It has gotten a lot easier to see these films over the last decade or so. You used to get to the end of December and not have seen most of the "important" films.

 

Very much looking forward to this not being an issue

Yeah I got Covid either doing the thing I did a ton this year or having a dinner and going axe throwing with like 12 people I almost never had face to face interaction with, who is to say

 

Maybe you should find out who gave it to you and then go axe throwing again with a new target.

 

It doesn't help that it feels like COVID keeps changing the rules with new variants all the time

Iirc, Pacino’s character was supposed to be on coke but they cut it out of the movie, which Pacino apparently never got the message because he played the role that way anyway.

 

Will never fail to crack me up when it looks like he’s about to say “big ass” and goes for “great ass” at the last second

This drives me BANANAS. I go to the theater more than anyone I know and I can't possibly keep up with everything in November and December. Especially when any movie that isn't a hit is cleared out to make room for the next one they're cramming in.

3 of last year's 10 picture noms were out in, like June. The odds of being an Oscar darling that way are actually significantly better than trying to sneak in and Million Dollar Baby it at the last second.

 

the benefit is that there’s absolutely nothing until march with dune so plenty of time to catch up
