TV shows being weekly and roughly once a year and 22-24 episodes was never some artistic direction or the ideal way to watch it. It was a business decision designed to keep you coming back so they can sell you cereal or Toyotas.

 

I liked commercials being built-in potty breaks in the olden days. Now when I watch something, I have to either pause it in an awkward place, or wait 30-60 minutes until the episode is over.

That, but I'd also rather be doing something else with my time than watching one episode of something for an hour, let alone long ass movies haha. Sometimes I'll watch one or two long episodes of a show, and then I'm done and I usually never go back to it.

 

what else are you doing? Writing new music for your band?

 

Yeah, I'm constantly doing music stuff for all sorts of projects. One of my bands has 7 different releases in the works for 2024 haha. So yeah, I'd rather be doing music stuff 90% of the time. Every time I'm watching a long movie or a show I don't care about, all I can think is "I'd rather be doing music right now."

My wife is a high school English teacher, and when she comes home, her happy place is not talking, shutting her brain off, and putting on a movie or TV show to decompress. Sometimes I'll ask her what movie she is watching, and she'll say "I don't know. I just pushed play on whatever was selected on Netflix."

Haha yeah... 7 releases for 1 band, recording albums with 3 other bands, and I'm gonna try and start up the Chorus Members Compilations again. And that's just all that's planned. Who knows what will come up throughout the year haha.
