The nominees are fairly conventional and, from at least what I have seen, not terrible. The Golden Globes were much more fun when they were clearly bought out to nominate stuff like The Tourist.

 

The funniest thing about that category is that many of the big movies got (and deserved, in my opinion) nominations in other categories. Really just feels like it's there to convince Swift and Cruise to show up, which they certainly won't.

There has definitely been a lot fewer Oscar bait films the last few years. The box office rewards are too low now.

 

The Boy and the Heron is easily the best animated film of 2023. Not the best Ghibli film imo but still great.

I don’t understand why you’d want to split the vote three ways, but it’s the Golden Globes. I feel like “I’m Just Ken” would have the best shot because it’s big and brassy. Billie already has her awards and a pop dance song has no chance. Also, the funny song like “Peaches” or “Blame Canada” never wins awards.
