I refused to see it just because the trailer got so annoying. I guess it was good it scared me off!

“Morbius” was attached to every movie for like six months, which was great because that’s when you knew you could hit the restroom or concessions after you got your seat.

Wait you get your seat and THEN go to the restroom and concessions?

yeah trailers are so long that if you time it right you have only a few minutes before the movie starts so you have to worry less about needing to go during the movie

Movies usually start 20-25 minutes after the listed showtime at my AMCs. Usually get concessions straight away, go to my seat, then after 4 or 5 trailers go to the restroom.

Yeah, at our AMC, just because you reserved seats doesn’t mean there won’t be some asshole sitting in them. So I get there, put my coat down and do everything else. Their trailer portion is so damn long that there’s no worries because if you go to a movie every other week, you’ve likely seen all the trailers anyway.

Yeah I always go to my seat first, wait for 3 or 4 trailers to play then run to the bathroom if I need to.

A lot of the theaters around here sell the tickets and the concessions at the same register so it is so much easier.

I absolutely hate that, if I just need a ticket I have to wait for the dumbass with 8 kids that are each getting a popcorn and drink

It can be annoying when they all get those little personalized sodas and popcorn in the little kid boxes. There should be an express line for true cinephiles.

If I’m buying a ticket and not a concession (which is my default approach), then I just use the screen to get my ticket instead of going to the counter.

Also, I usually just show up late on purpose to skip most of the trailers. Just means more buffer time.

we've definitely had this or a similar conversation before (because I remember @CarpetElf posting something dumb) but no way am I even driving to a theater without already having a ticket purchased

If I’m going solo, I always buy my ticket when I get there, but I do check online to see what kinda seating is still available.

“If you’re going that far, and buying your ticket from a screen anyways, why not just buy the ticket online?”

Idk, aren’t the fees different? Maybe not? Idk?

cinemark movie club member, no fees. but the one in robinson can get packed so I also buy a ticket before I leave my place. but the one in monaca I think you have to go up to the concession to print your ticket no matter what right?

this post is only for Tim

I’ve been “thinking about” joining the Cinemark thing for years, lol. I need to just do it already. Merry Christmas to me, etc.

Monaca has a screen for ticket self checkout in the entrance, before you go into the main lobby. That’s where I always get my tickets.

Does the Cinemark membership thingy give you a discount on those movie tie-in buckets? My friend was talking about all her movie buckets at the comic shop yesterday, and now I’m dead set on getting a Madame Web one if they do one.

I don't think I have ever bought a ticket in advance. I never plan that far ahead. I think I started driving to see Oppenheimer and/or Mission Impossible three or four times before I decided to go to Popeye's or somewhere else.

it’s 20 or 25 percent off concessions but I don’t know if that includes the fancy buckets.

I meant movie tickets but the last concert I went to was probably Guns N' Roses in 2016.
