Maybe they are bad for streaming but subtitles for foreign film torrents have gotten so much better over the last few years. They used to be off sync so by the end of the film they would be thirty seconds before or ahead.

 

VLC lets you delay/advance the subs if they're out of sync. Has been a lifesaver.

 

Yes if they are only off initially. In the old days they were going at a slightly slower speed so you would have them get more out of sync as time went on. It was really small like a second per minute but it adds up.

 

It's annoying but you can keep adjusting them as the film goes on. I just set up a keyboard shortcut and have my laptop to the TV with HDMI and a wireless keyboard.

The one thing missing from Plex is the ability to adjust the subs in real-time.

 

it's always a sad moment when you realise you're going to have to spend a chunk of time adjusting your subtitles when you're just trying to watch a film.

25 Perfect TV Episodes From the Last 25 Years

It's a list with some interesting choices for sure. If you asked me I probably wouldn't have picked that episode for GOT or the one they picked for The Leftovers. GRRM seems to agreee with the pick for GOT though haha

 

Pine Barrens is great, but Whitecaps or Made in America are both better.

Some great choices there. “The Injury” really is the perfect “Office” episode.

I'd add Person Of Interest's "If-Then-Else". As much as the procedural format of the regular episodes could understandably be a turn off for people used to prestige TV shows, it also had a bunch of high concept, bonkers episodes (feels very Community-y in that approach) and this one is probably the best. Probably contains one of my favorite pieces of music by Ramin Djawadi too.

I actually really liked Creed 3 (and Quantumania a bit less so) but Jonathan Majors is a butt

 

this shot and the final fight in creed 3 both still rule

 

yeah I was really surprised how much I liked MBJ's directing, that last fight was stellar. before its release I got the first two on DVD with the intention of getting the third, but now I'd just feel gross about the idea of getting it.
