I only check my phone at the theater when I’m doing my taxes so usually just the first week of April. Other than that I keep it in my pocket.

 

It's only better because there's nobody behind that person. If a person in the front row was on their phone, just about everyone in the theater would see it. In the back row, only the couple of people next to you would see it. Anyway, if they have to check a text or something during the movie and they're in the very back row, I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. But I never buy back row tickets, so maybe that's why I don't care as much haha.

 

(To clarify, I'm mostly checking IMDb during the trailers)

 

I don’t care what people do during trailers. Half of that time is just straight commercials for random shit anyway.

 

Trailers are fair game, I encourage hooting and hollering and snarky comments.

But I don't think it makes a difference if you're ruining two peoples' time or 100, let's just be courteous and respectful of everyone. It's just so easy to not look at your phone for a couple hours.

 

Being on your phone or talking during the trailers is totally fine. The movie hasn't started and the lights aren't down yet.

 

If someone’s on call for work, or they have a babysitter watching their kid, and the person gets a text during the movie and needs to look at the phone real quick, I don’t think that’s an issue. If they’re on their phone the whole movie playing Candy Crush and sending snapchats, then yeah that’s just uncalled for.

 

In those scenarios they can still easily walk to the hall, not miss a second of the movie and not disturb anyone else, but I think we're mostly talking about egregiously disturbing others with no regard, not necessarily one quick glance once during the movie.

It won’t be a faithful adaptation of Monopoly unless it’s 4+ hours and terrible.

 

I’m not convinced any of us have ever actually had any social interaction with half these comments

Read the Monopoly script and it's just a take on a Wall Street type movie that they are calling Monopoly... wasn't good!
