I watched one et the other day, that movie is so good

 

Just watched it. Enjoyed it more but still not great.

 

Tenet was cool, not my favorite of his by any means but it was cool.

 

Tenet was decent. I had a good time with it overall.

 

As this site's biggest Tenet defender, I like that there is one filmmaker whose first thought is “what is the coolest concept I can shoot” and writes around that. Two way time fights, dream in dream fights, black hole time warps.

The writing suffers because he puts the cart before the horse. The best metaphors are created to illuminate their concept, Nolan creates his metaphor first and then slaps a meaning on after. I love watching these things on screen and while there are plenty of people who could write a better story I don't think there's anyone who would film them better.

 

Blockbusters suck now because they are being pushed to limit of capitalist corporations profiteering strategies, but when we did the year in films polls it put a bullet in the head of movies suck now. There are more awesome movies every year than even I have time to watch.

I enjoyed this videos observation on current story trends. I recently watched Jaws and Alien for the first time and the very straightforward story did stick out to me.

Seems pretty wild to me that a show nominated for multiple awards can be pulled and thrown in the digital dumpster.

Honestly, that's why I torrent everything I like. Even if I watch it on a streaming service and then download it later. Because this shit can and will happen to just about anything, and if I really like something, I'm not going to let some suits take it from me for their own bullshit. They're just asking for people to pirate stuff.
