Watching Signs for the first time, and I'm wondering if M. Night Shyamalan has ever talked to a human before? The dialogue is soo bad haha nobody acts like a real person

I think Uncle Merrill is the only normal-acting person

I do love how quickly they jumped into the story though, no slow build up at all.

The thing I didn’t get about Signs when I was a kid is that it’s pretty fucking funny.

What did we do as a society do to deserve Bert Kreischer and Sebastian Maniscalo movies back to back?

i’m all for complaining about how tech companies are ruining the industry and any creative endeavors but i don’t see how that change is that big of a deal. most anyone who would bother looking up to see writer director credits knows what “creator” means in the context.

Always do the right thing. Supporter

By removing the distinction between “director” and “creator”, specifically when viewing the page for a work of cinema, it’s a sign of the continuing absorption of cinema by content as presented by corporations, a devaluing of art compared to content. It seems small, and in terms of priority as a single issue it is, but I understand the perspective.

If a casual film fan wanted to see more films by the people who made Raging Bull, that information is being obscured. Peter Savage is not the pipeline to decades of amazing films.

It’s a further push toward devaluing art. Directors make films. Creators make content.
