I think he gets $5 million a year but I don't know if that's the highest paid. Fuck em regardless.

 

He makes more than enough on endorsement deals and producing to cover his staff for a long while.

 

I've been really lamenting the death of late night TV recently. It sucks. It used to be a place for cutting edge comedy, and even with Leno at least you could get insane shit like the Burt Reynolds and Marc Summers fiasco. It's so lame now, and I don't know if we'll ever get a return to form.

 

I doubt that it ever recovers. The icons like Letterman and Conan O'Brien were given a lot longer leash than anyone is going to get anymore. It is all about making viral content.

 

One of the great things about Conan and Letterman was their remotes and their love of talking with people on the street or communities. None of the hosts now can be bothered to do that. Corden only left the studio to shill some product and be annoying on Carpool Karaoke. Colbert and Kimmel are getting up there and don’t care. It isn’t Seth Meyers’s thing. There’s just absolutely no curiosity.

 

Yeah late night is just for YouTube clips now

 

No way will celebrities let someone ask them actual questions knowing Fallon will feed them questions and kiss their ass lol

 

I don’t even care about pre-screened questions. It’s Fallon’s laughing and clapping that make me never watch his interviews.

 

The biggest sin is that Colbert, so funny for two decades in Strangers With Candy/The Daily Show/The Colbert Report, became the most boring version of himself on the biggest platform.

 

Do any of them actually attempt comedy bits anymore? Like with weird/absurd characters or anything? Honestly Don't even know the format of any of these shows anymore.

 

I don't know the last time I watched a clip of one of them that wasn't just an interview. I kinda forgot they try to have a whole show beyond that lol. Fallon just turned it into having a celebrity game night

 

I stopped watching any late night after Conan went off the air

 

Fallon used to do characters when he hosted “Late Night.” Some of them were funny. But he gave that all up on the “Tonight Show”.

I also forgot that the last great celebrity interview show was “Ziwe” because she loves making guests uncomfortable in a different way than Eric Andre. Of course, her show got canned.

 

No one does characters. Just interviews and games and shit.

I strongly encourage yall to watch clips from Conan's podcast on YouTube. Fucking hilarious.

Honestly, I don't even watch the celebrity interviews. His chemistry with Sona and Matt is hysterical

 

So don't get me wrong, I don't like Fallon, but is that really his fault? Isn't NBC the one cutting checks?

 

Didn't Conan pay his staff out of his own pocket in 2007? Fallon can afford it.

 

Seth is the only one worth watching that's currently on. I was excited when Colbert got the Late Show but like someone else said he's become bland as hell since he got that job

 

We are watching Jack and Jill because I wanted to see if it really is that bad and it is worse. The cameos are the most painful, particularly the Jared Fogle one.

 

Jack and Jill is a piece of art. The Dunkin’ Donuts commercial is so good.
