I was putting on movies for kids after testing and they weren't responding to Billy Madison at all until I realized that the movie is almost 30 years old.

MTV News pretty much sucked after they pivoted to video. Still, this is sad to see alongside all the other news services that are shutting down.

I haven't sat down and watched MTV in over 15 years, but it's definitely bittersweet to read that MTV News is getting the ax.

Nothing. It was all online pseudo-Buzzfeed lite puff pieces mostly.

Yes and no. Transposed to my era, it would have been like if a teacher put on a movie from the mid-70s. It doesn't really feel that long, but then I started to realize how many of the actors are dead or have aged so much they look like a different person.

They liked Blades of Glory and Pitch Perfect better. Zoolander was mostly ignored except for one kid who really appreciated its level of silliness.

My students have been eating The Social Network up. Every day on the way out the door at least two students tell me they reeeeeeeally want to go home and finish the movie.

Been meaning to re-watch this. I saw it as a kid, but it's the only one of his movies besides Mank that I'm not super familiar with.

I do remember the twist and the final scene though and even as a kid thought it was cool.
