It’s based on a comic by Mark Millar (boo) & Frank Quitely (yay). The first and so far only of supposedly many Millar adaptations, in the works after Netflix bought Mark’s creator-owned Millarworld imprint and hired him.

Now all of Millar’s mediocre comics (that at least employ good artists and pays them well) at Image have the Netflix logo on them. We’ll see if any adaptation actually works. I think the next one is American Jesus?

 

If you know Kickass, and Kingsman: The Secret Service, and Captain America: Civil War, and Logan, and Wanted…

Those are other adaptations (sometimes pretty loosely) of comics Millar wrote.

 

I don’t see how it’s a shitty worldview to be content with not having all my favorite shows to watch because of a single strike. I think it’s far more shitty to, in the context of said strike, whine about how bad my favorite shows might be. Like yeah, that’s the point of the strike.

 

The POV of “the world goes on” so let’s dismiss things is shitty.

I’m not “dismissing” anything, I’m voicing my support for the strike by making clear that I don’t care, and don’t think anyone else should care, how much shitty TV gets made if it means the strikers get a better deal

 

I remember having to wait almost two years for 24 to come back after a severely underwhelming season finale.

Lost getting shortened was annoying.

Scrubs got a reduced season that was all over the place.

The Office got shortened and, IMHO, began it’s road down to being bad.

I have no idea why you felt the need to post the same thread I already read. I didn’t contradict any of that. I added my opinion on it that I had at the time.

I know people make fun of West Wing now, and this show has tons of problems, but I am rewatching In the Shadow of Two Gunmen and goddamn this episode is still tremendous television.

In regards to the strike, I’ve seen a lot of people in the higher end of the Hollywood pay bracket speaking up and striking in solidarity with the working class writers and such. I’m a little more optimistic than the previous go but only time will tell
