I like the idea of rotating picks week to week. What kind of ground rules/criteria are we thinking for choosing a film?

I would join, but I only watch about 2 movies a year, so I probably wouldn't follow through

We will rotate among the participants and that person picks the film. The only criteria will be that it is available via streaming and/or rental and that it is not some huge movie everyone has already seen.

An every-week commitment is hard with how the school year shifts but I'd definitely watch some movies in a weekly thread.

Also, if it's classics, I'd be happy to throw in suggestions, too. I'm certainly no expert, but a quick LB check says I've seen about 1,500 movies prior to 1970.

lol I've legit only seen 8 movies on that list and dont recognize like half of those titles. Bridesmaids being on there is both jarring and hilarious

I have seen 12-13 of those movies. And I watch a shit ton of movies. Yikes.

I guess I do watch a lot of trash.

I assume Bridesmaids is there because of cultural impact

If you tried to tell me that Mulholland Drive and In The Mood for Love came out in this century before I looked at that article I would have told you you're horribly mistaken. I swear both of those came out in the early late 80s/early 90s.

I'm not afraid to say it: I don't entirely agree with that list

I've seen them all except Black Panther. The Tree of Life should be number 1 but overall I appreciate how offbeat the list is.

This isn’t a spoiler, FYI. But there is a scene that is about a certain type of writing and it’s tense AF. I love that movie so much. Sadly, I only saw it last year.
