I decided to watch the Dana Carvey Show because I have seen it cited so often as something that was offbeat and canceled before its time. It also was an outlet for some comics just starting out (Louis C.K., Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell). It is terribly dated; 90% of the jokes are about Bob Dole, and Carvey has always been a little too good-natured for me, but there is a lot of avant-garde stuff that you see a lot in newer comedies. It is pretty obvious why it didn't survive on a network in the 90's.

I doubt it would hold up well, but watching the Dana Carvey show at the age of 13 when it aired live is something I'll never forget.

2007 was a great year for film! I remember seeing Superbad at the midnight opening. It was wild.

Yeah seeing Superbad at midnight was monumental. The hype leading up to that movie was insane and it lived up to every ounce of it

I feel like it was definitely one of my earlier memories of the internet hyping up a movie huge before it was released. That and Snakes on a Plane

I haven't signed up yet, it's extremely frustrating that you can't search for participating theaters in your area on their website. That seems like a no brainer to me.

I wanted to do it before I signed up... like I wanted to see what the app looks like before I sign up but it didn't work

So then I figured okay... this seems like a no brainer let me pay $10 and then I'll be able to explore the app...

Still couldn't see theaters...and it keeps logging me out.

Bad start. Hopefully this is just early hiccups

Hopefully. But the app has been around for a while. I remember hearing about Moviepass around this time last year. I just didn't act on it because the price was much higher back then ($40 or so per month I think). Could be increased usage that is making it bug out, but you'd think they'd have the app in a solid state before they made the pricing change. Also, someone posted the article that AMC was pretty pissed about the whole thing. It seems odd to me that they didn't consult with their partners, especially one as big as AMC, before announcing. If they can sort it all out, it's a game changer, but right now the company just seems to be really poorly managed.

I have always been a little suspicious of straight men that make such a spectacle of themselves as allies. Obviously you should be trying to achieve those goals, but it has often felt like overcompensating.
