Technically it makes sense to do it like a concert, they’re just a century too late to change up the norm

I’d be for it if they kept the price for good seats the same and the price for bad seats cheaper

It sounds like the "undesirable" seats are discounted, which is good, and it doesn't affect A-List members, which is also good. It makes sense, you already pay more for stuff like IMAX (or less for matinee), now you'll pay more (or less!) depending on where you sit

AMC is like, my 4th last resort option theater around me anyway so, i'll say i think it's a dumb as hell idea and move right along.

I have 2 within 10 minutes of me but neither has assigned seating so I still go to the Cinemark 15-20 minutes away.

One of the reasons I have always been against assigned seats is that it seemed like a way to introduce tiered seating. People didn't realize that that was what they were arguing for when they defended assigned seats by comparing it to airplanes.

I loved assigned seat because of my anxiety. I love knowing I can show up and have the exact seat I want.

It's just bad publicity for an industry/company that should be doing the exact opposite

  15. Feel great for the theater employees who will be expected to police people buying cheaper seats and moving to better ones.

I can't remember the last time I was in a theater that was more than a quarter full anyway so I'll just keep picking random seats on their screen and then sit where I want.

assigned seating is just needlessly complicating things. Tiered prices is just next level stupid.

The assigned seating thing was a funny issue with friends last night. Me and some coworkers went to see Megan but some weren't sure if they could make it and what not...which is an issue with assigned seats. You can't do the whole last second "ill join ya" thing.

They can just get other seats. You shouldn’t be talking at the movies anyways.

I’m a very end of the aisle guy so I can have at least one side of no one next to me, but I’m usually going to the theater at times when there’s no one/hardly anyone even there.

I like the seats at the bottom with spaces in between for wheelchair access. I know they are for the companions of wheelchair users but I literally never see anyone else in them.

I think the best seat is the last row dead middle but I usually end up doing last row on the end.

If I'm in an auditorium with recliners or Dolby, I try to be as centered as possible in the room since the seats aren't packed in

if it's standard seating I go a few rows closer but still try to be in the middle

Last 2 movies I remember being sold out or almost sold out were Avatar 2 in IMAX (still tried to be as centered as I could but those seats are tight) and Spider-No Way Home (which was in Dolby but packed)
