It’s Gatsby.

 

An awful movie but it helped my students understand what we read.

The 2007 Beowulf movie is grotesque. The summer of Spider-Man 3, Beowulf, and Pirates of the Caribbean 3 really shaped my film watching trajectory

 

I’m struggling to think of “great literature” for adults off the top of my head, but there are kids books with artistic merit whose adaptations are miserable, like The Giver, Ender’s Game, and A Wrinkle in Time.

Edit: I remember thinking Joe Wright’s “Anna Karenina” was pretty blah

Hitchhiker's Guide To the Galaxy
Brief Interviews With Hideous Men
The Chronicles of Narnia (specifically the second one)
Zach Snyder's Watchmen

 

Man I loved the Artemis Fowl books as a kid and it felt like a movie would never got off the ground, and then it did, unfortunately

 

One of the 2 movies I’ve ever walked out of.

 

This might be the third time people get mad at me on here today but Where The Wild Things Are is another example. It would make a really good short film but the middle just ends up dragging. There is a reason the book was so short.

 

Nah I agree that movie isn’t great.

 

I remember the trailer with the arcade fire song more than the movie

 

It is certainly up there with Prometheus in terms of great trailers to bad movies.

 

It certainly didn’t appeal to kids

 

This is almost as bad as the Musk Gen Z sketch.

 

Look, sorry, I don't like SNL and don't see a point to it when I have Twitter. However, "it's like 'Bros' but for gays" remains hilarious.

That'll never happen but the good news is this will be one of at most three times any of us ever think about it

 

Just watched Brittany runs a marathon and loved it. Apparently everyone in the thread on here hated it.

 

I read that as John Cena at first.
