people should care because David Lowry is a great filmmaker on a pretty great (and diverse) roll. his previous Disney re-make was one of the few that actually had some heart behind it.

If Cruella counts, it’s the only one I care about.

Breathless was my first Godard viewing but I mostly treated it as a film school assignment. Pierrot le Fou is when I really attached to Godard personally, an all-timer of a film. I gain something anytime I see his work or read his words. I think I’ll revisit Masculin Feminin tonight. RIP.

There's a ton of Godard I haven't gotten around to yet, but out of what I have seen, I'm for some reason particularly drawn to Made in USA and 2 or 3 Things I Know About Her.

I think my favourite Godard is A Woman is a Woman, really loved that one.

Masculin feminin, Contempt, and Pierrot le Fou are impossible to choose between. Week End is close.

Pierrot Le Fout is probably my favorite, but it’s also a pretty easy hang. Week End is up there, Breathless is way good.

I whavent seen Tout Va Bien in years but I liked it a lot at the time. I watched the companion video Letter To Jane last year and got a lot out of it:

I’ve had Alphaville on dvd for like 15 years and still never watched it…

Never actually seen any of his work. Probably my biggest blindspot in film. I've seen at least one from most of the other all-timers

This plot sounds nuts, in a bad way. Like Last Starfighter but with racecars

Reading about how Godard was nearly destitute later in life and was selling his belongings to survive is heartbreaking. You don't expect someone whose name is an adjective to be broke, but that is the cost of creative independence it seems.

I watched Prenom Carmen for the first time last night. 6 stars, what a movie. Knocked my socks off. Beautiful images, great sound, great witticisms from JLG

when shit’s worth money the poor won’t have assholes

Van Gogh looked for yellow at sunset. You have to look

If we learned anything from JLG its the system is corrupt and all movies should be about young lovers on the run
