Better than the fucking yankees

 

I don’t wanna harsh the mellow in the Lord Of The Rings thread, but why are these megabudget shows so badly lit? Is it to accomidate the vfx or something?

Was this filmed on location in the uncanny valley?

 

I feel like television and movies in general have just gotten darker

 

That’s true. I was thinking this one though is jarringly bright. Flat and bright.

I see this show is from the director of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. It all makes sense now.

 

Regretfully must side with the director of Birdman over the star of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

 

We have tickets to see Medieval in about an hour and I’m legitimately worried I’ll fall asleep during it.

 

Theoretically I agree with the message there, but using that movie as an example is uhhh, not it haha. Who the hell cares about whatever that is, definitely can be used for streaming fodder

 

I mean the live action remakes, before covid, were making between $500m and $1b at the box office.

Disney was squeezing out competition by requiring a bigger cut of the box office and longer stays in the top screens, and now when they don't need the theaters anymore they will live on a huge subscriber base while not having to buy outside content like Netflix does. It is a real life version of the Toy Story I don't want to play with you anymore" meme.

 

It’s such a frustrating time to be an avid television watcher. Most things are getting cancelled after one season, why should I watch the first season of something if it’ll most likely be cancelled, if no one watches the first season it’s more likely to be cancelled, round and round we go

 

and it's like I'm just gonna watch my shows and hope other people watch them, like with the White Lotus, but it's like okay am I the only one watching or not watching this

 

cancellations are frustrating sure but there is also way more great television on a variety of topics from a variety of creators than there has ever been. literally too much for me to keep up with. idk. i feel like tv is in a pretty good place.
