Don't Worry Darling sounds extremely polarizing, I'll love it of course, so fascinating to put eggs in that basket

 

I think they’re assuming there’s going to be a lot of tickets sold based on Harry’s presence. Not really sure that’s going to play out on a movie like this. I wouldn’t even know if there were people who went to see Dunkirk specifically for him. But I also wouldn’t be deleting series and movies left and right like they never existed so what do I know

 

Comic readers have been worried about what WB corporate nonsense could mean for DC Comics (and, as a result, the direct market comics industry at large) for years.

Who could’ve predicted that the niche hobby, cheap IP farm that is comics would be in a much safer place than their films/television/streaming? So wild, distressing, and tragically funny to watch, lol.

That people to pay to be a "member" of the A24 Fan Club and it doesn't include getting movies is such a bizarre thing to try and understand.

i know someone who pays for their club and reads every one of their newsletters and has seen, charitably, less than 25% of their movies. a baffling person.

 

i guess "less than 25% of their movies" isn't that surprising bc they put out so much but he hasn't seen virtually any of the ones you'd expect someone who is considered an A24 Fan Club member to have seen

 

High end brand stuff is annoying to me. And, dunking on corny hipsters is always fun, lol.

But, if this particular brand is funding independent movies in the current climate of Disney, Warner Bros Discovery, Netflix, etc., and those movies are sometimes great… then I can’t see A24 as anything but a net positive presence in this landscape.

Did any of the younger Star Wars actors even get a bump from that trilogy? Adam Driver, but he was on his way to being a star. I don't think I have see Ridley or Boyega in anything.
