I bought a TFA shirt. She should be happy.

 

Yeah it was 15 years ago but Colin Treverrow's debut short film is such misogynistic MRA trash that I will probably never be able to stomach his work. Plus I think that DNA is present in Jurassic World.

 

Treverrow's lens is so aggressively and lionizingly male, it bums me out even more that with Rey being the driving narrative of the new Star Wars films, he will helm the finale to this trilogy.

 

Trevorrow can't really screw up a Star Wars movie, though, but it is nice to see The Book of Henry fail as revenge for how many times I have had to watch Jurassic World in my position as a teacher monitoring teenagers.

Lmao, I love PTA. I enjoy Magnolia just how it is but in his interview with Marc Maron he talks about how he wishes he cut a lot out.

I love when the super high minded art directors are super passionate about and into more low brow comedy. Terrence Malick loves Zoolander and apparently quotes it on set pretty frequently.

I hate that Showgirls, a Legitimately Great Movie, is included here. They even say its received a critical reappraisal in recent years as more people realized its a "slyly brilliant satire", to which they say "Which, maybe it is? Kind of?". Yes, it is, and you can tell because of, first of all, everything in the movie, but second, the entire filmography of the director.
