The visual effects are routinely mocked in those films, but it is by the viewers and it is with the understanding that Disney must either rush them or not pay enough money. Because they represent an overwhelming percentage of big-budget filmmaking, it is holding back visual effects as a whole.

Wasn't aware people mocked the VFX in marvel movies. Not surprised disney is under paying its workers but are other movies doing VFX significantly better?

I don't think I've saved any of the threads but people have shown much more impressive visuals for films that had a fraction of a Marvel movie budget.

I've said it before, but the VFX in The Amazing Spider-Man films look better/more realistic than 90% of the MCU. Venom and Carnage, too. Anyone know if Sony treats their artists any better than Disney anyways?

fwiw I don’t think the studios themselves have artists they contract effects houses like ILM, Weta, Double Negative etc. They’ll usually stick with the same ones though to streamline the process and reuse assets. But Disney is so huge that the effects house will be focusing most of its manpower on a Disney property leaving little time for anything else and even then they’ll be stretched thin. I’ll try to find a corrider digital video on it but they have a guy who works on marvel stuff from time to time and his studio was working on just Thanos the entire production. And even then he pointed out mistakes and stuff they missed because of the crunch.
