Ah yeah that makes sense. Unfortunately for me the only AMC convenient to where I live is a dine-in at the local mall. They only ever show like the four biggest movies that are playing at any given time and I also don't like seeing movies for the first time at a dine-in theater because of the noise/distractions. So I go to a different theater locally that isn't an AMC. Closest non-dine-in AMC to me is like over a half hour away, so it's not really worth having A-List. Sucks.

 

I had A-List from the second it became available up until about 6 months ago.

Now I just go on eBay and for $10 you can get vouchers for a movie ticket, a large popcorn and a large drink.

 

lol Home Alone 2 is the last movie I remember my dad seeing in the theater

 

It's so alien to me how many people don't watch movies haha

 

I pretty much only go with other people for big blockbusters. Otherwise, I always go alone.

 

i go solo whenever my wife has a work thing out of town

 

I wait for movies to show up on my friends plex account

 

My dad will watch stuff on TV, but it is almost always something he stumbles upon flipping channels that he thinks he heard someone say is good. The Departed is the last movie he actively sought out and he still waited until I could download it for him.

 

All this theater talk, think I might go see Crimes of the Future tonight

 

Best thing is taking a weekday off and going to see a flick then treat yourself to a little lunch

 

The stigma of solo trips to the movies was clearly created by the film industry to sell more tickets by pressuring people to see movies in groups

 

And Seinfeld didn’t help!

 

I’ve said it before but one of the only things I miss about the restaurant industry is having random weekdays off and seeing a movie at 10 or 11 in the morning with a bunch of old people and then getting lunch by myself.

 

What did Jerry do?

 

I never worked in a *real* restaurant but if I could make a living working as a short order cook I would

 

so many episodes where they all went to see a movie together

 

Oh gotcha, I’ve legitimately never watched the show. I assumed there was maybe some running joke about shaming people that went to movies alone

 

I’m watching Jurassic Park 2 and this little girl fighting off raptors with a gymnastics routine is really breaking my suspension of disbelief

Love solo movies. The only benefit there used to be with seeing movies in a group is talking about it afterwards in the car, but now when I see a movie I just text multiple group chats about it, so who needs the company anymore
