Finally starting to dive into Cronenberg's older work. I'm sure I've seen at least a few of these films, but it would have been when I was a kid.

Watched Naked Lunch last night. Probably gonna do Videodrome next.

He's one of my favorites. I recently revisited Videodrome, which is probably my favorite of his body horror works. I personally prefer his recent work though. Cosmopolis and Maps to the Stars specifically.

The only films of his that I remember seeing are The Fly, Eastern Promises, History of Violence and A Dangerous Method. Reading the plots of his other movies, I'm pretty interested in most all of them, particularly the more sci-fi/horror stuff. I'll have to take a look at his newer stuff too though, apparently.

I watched it last night, at the age of 33, and I wasn't prepared.

With regard to his early sci fi/horror work, I highly recommend Shivers. It's super low budget 70s horror, but I think it's among the more interesting twists in the zombie genre. Hope you enjoy exploring his work!

Really interesting move by Facebook -- I knew that they were pursuing the idea of original content (ala Youtube Red) but didn't even consider that they would pick up a cancelled show.

Side note I really loved Loosely Exactly Nicole and it seems like literally no one I know had even heard of it. Tbh just glad that Nicole is still working (semi)steadily with this.

  12. Thought of this while in the Breaking Bad thread but thought I'd post it here because it's a more general discussion.

What are some noteworthy television episodes that made you super emotional?
    Breaking Bad - Ozymandias
Penny Dreadful - the bottle episode at the hospital
Game of Thrones - the Red Wedding
    House - House's Head/Wilson's Heart
Fringe - basically all of them

    Peaky Blinders - Season 3, Episode 3
    M*A*S*H - Abyssinia, Henry

  16. I'm not good at remembering specific episodes, but if I was I could probably point to a few from The Leftovers and Parenthood. That one Futurama episode too. Horace and Pete had a couple.

"My Lunch". Really great but sad episode.

  19. HIMYM (Season 8, Episode 20) - "Time Travelers"

I can remember that one specifically.

  20. Avatar: The Last Airbender - Iroh's scene in Tales of Ba Sing Se
Teen Titans - anything with Terra.
Steven Universe - too many. The most recent ones, for sure.
Adventure Time - anything with Simon. The ones about Finn's mom
Hey Arnold - the one about his dad. The one about Mr. Huynh. And probably a few more.

I keep forgetting to watch Futurama. That looks like something that should be watched in its entirety.

For me I think eXistenZ is his most underrated work, mostly overlooked due to the Matrix comparisons (movie came out a few weeks after the Matrix). Highly recommend one of the best movies about interactions to technology and one of the best weaves of levels of, pun intended, existence.

I watched Videodrome last night and loved it. As my gf put it, "this is weird, but not as weird as the last one" (Naked Lunch)
