My bet is Paramount goes in-house with a current Daily Show correspondent. Roy Wood Jr is currently their most prominent regular correspondent so he'd be my first prediction or maybe Desi Lydic.

Just please don't let it be Jordan Klepper. Viacom/Paramount has been trying to push that guy to be the next Colbert for over 5 years and it's just never going to work. If those execs are going to pick any straight white guy it'll be him.

 

I know he's a straight white male which we don't need more of but I could see John Mulaney being a great late night host. A steady job like that could be good for him too

 

He'd never want to be the competition to Seth Meyers, and i don't think any TV executive would trust that guy with his own show just a couple years out of rehab.

Slowly working my way through The X-Files. Surprised by how many future stars show up. Just watched an episode with a young Giavonni Ribisi and Jack Black, now watching an episode with a very young Bokeem Woodbine.
