Just came here because I wanted to saw it found it fucking hilarious how that Alexis girl got so offended that that one guy said he didn’t find her attractive. And she had to be all “I AM attractive”. Then had to talk about how the girl her man is on a date with looks like her... lol sis. No she doesn’t. She’s prettier than you. Method acting is a legitimate technique but somewhere along the line a lot of Hollywood stars were Brando or Pacino wannabes who don’t understand that you still have to communicate the character onscreen with acting, it’s not all broody affectations and drastically changing your physical appearance

 

Like so many actors radically transform their bodies, and I think a lot of it comes from Brando being famously unrecognizable from his 50s output in his late career but it was because he wouldn’t stop eating ice cream, not because he was trying to subvert the Brando archetype (though it had that benefit)

 

I also cannot stop eating ice cream

 

It is so funny that people like Jared Leto use method acting in superhero movies. You can do whatever you want! The movie exists outside of reality.

 

Ryan Gosling freaking out Peter Jackson because he ate so much ice cream that he gained like 60 pounds and then not getting the role anyway because he was only 8 years older than Rose McIver is still the best

 

We’ve talked on here before about how every actor with a long enough career seems to have at least some misses, not necessarily in their performance but in picking shitty films. But it looks like we’ve found the one true exception

 

At this point when an actor talks about “method acting” and doing shit like staying in character during a whole production, it feels more like them just trying to gain hype for award season - the logic being that people will take that aspect of it into consideration when comparing it to someone whose performance may be just as good if not better, but doesn’t seem to have that kind of “commitment” backstory to it

 

I didn't know about this and the real news to me is that Rose McIver played a 13 year old when she was 21

Someone tried to tell me the movie heist was better than heat. So I watched them both. He was very wrong.

 

Weird. Heist is an enjoyable flick, but Heat is a masterpiece.
