I just watched Contagion for the first time. I know a lot of people watched it in spring 2020 right when Covid hit. I think it was insane watching it now, after the vaccine rollout. The parallels are mind blowing.

Lol I re watched it the other day and yeah the vaccine rollout was the only part that took me out of it. Everything else was very accurate of how the pandemic played out

  8. My wife is watching The Julia Child Challenge right now on Netflix or whatever, and I said "wow her voice sounds just like the little old lady on We're Back: A Dinosaur Story." Then I did a quick Google search, and turns out she DID do the voice of the little old lady haha. My wife was shocked because she always swears that I am making that movie up...

    That is all. Carry on.

As a millennial, I’ve “thought about death often” before, but probably not the way this is talking about!

I never went to film school but I felt similar when I was getting my second degree in political science and some students were largely non-political.

When I was in film school my peers were obsessed with TV shows way more than movies, but did love Star Wars and Marvel. You had to find the cool, snobby clique who’d already hunted down Godard’s entire body of work before they got to college to find anyone who was actually enthusiastic about the medium we were studying

our entire education system being geared towards employment ruins any sense of enjoyment or curiosity, wow you don't say

I (and most of you dorks) would probably have shitty ass choices at 18 too. I’m more impressed if kids are interested at all in anything other than what the algorithm spits at them. I always talk movies during class and it’s a pleasure when a kid has seen like, Friday or Bad Boys or Pulp Fiction or Scream

I still keep in touch with the student who actually enjoyed and engaged with The Grapes of Wrath. Even I was bored with it having to watch it six times a day.
