Why is that a selling point anyway? Who cares how much he knew when making the film? I don't see how that would enhance his performance or my enjoyment of the film.

 

Movie looks decent though. I'll probably watch it.

 

If he knows the outline of the movie but doesn’t have the script that’s just improvising and not new so why advertise it as some groundbreaking thing?

 

It is a remake. Unless they change things drastically it wouldn't be hard to figure out what happens.

 

I mean, if the point is to get natural reactions from somebody, then why even hire a professional actor?

 

Watching Beetlejuice for the first time since I was a kid. Surprised how little Beetlejuice is actually in the movie

 

if anything this should be something that you learn after watching the movie, like during a bonus feature, and becomes a WOW moment afterward. Going into it knowing that you're just gonna focus on that fact

 

I watched it for the first time last year and it is wild that he’s barely in the movie.

 

They probably just made it up as an excuse to explain away the fact that James McAvoy didn't properly prepare for the movie

 

It's like a horror movie plot structure, where he is mostly only hinted at for the first half, then maybe 4-5 scenes where he slowly starts recurring and interfering to a greater degree up until the climax. Plus even a character (the caseworker Juno) who comes along to provide a warning about him that the main characters promptly ignore lol

 

I thought I was going to hate it or not understand the love it gets but it’s honestly a good fun movie.

 

it's also weird seeing Alec Baldwin be appealing and how Beetlejuice tries to marry a teenager purely to save his ass, it also rules

 

That also describes basically every pre-2000 Burton film
