I see. The two I heard from students the most this week were "ah-queef-er" for aquifer and Massatusetts.

 

I guess this is a little off topic but someone mentioned mother! and Neon Demon so I'm just gonna go with it.

mother! was... an experience. Lots of laughing in the theater at moments that weren't particularly funny, but I guess that's a common reaction to shock value. Seeing Neon Demon in theaters was also wild. In retrospect, I wouldn't really call either of them good, though.

Arbitrarily grouping directors, I used to really like Aronofsky, Refn, and von Trier, but now I'm more interested in Aster, Eggers, and Kent.

 

Maybe I missed it if there’s a thread on it, but has anyone watched Manifest on Netflix?

 

Are there any places to watch deleted scenes / bloopers anymore? Did that trend die with DVDs? Feels like that could be an easy thing for streaming services to add in

 

All Criterion blu-rays should also have bloopers

My god, listening to the Big Picture episode yesterday, where they discussed all the “takes” Sean missed while he was on paternity leave, made me want to rip my hair out. I think I’m done with “discourse.” I’m gonna watch what I want to watch, talk about it with a few friends who are also into movies, and go on with my life. It was just so much stuff that made me go “my GOD who gives a shit.”
