I think B&B is def up there with the greats (even the later season 4 I thought was great and wish it did better). I'd have to go Southpark as the all time great though.

The Knick was an interesting experiment, and more than most television shows it really felt like it got the period setting right. I was surprised to read that the cast and Soderbergh actually had to confirm that what obviously happened in the last episode of the show actually happened. Decades of awful television has made television audiences so paranoid about believing the plot of the show. It reminds me of a long debate about whether or not Silvio actually killed one of the leading female characters in the Sopranos. It would obviously not make any sense for him to shoot into the ground for multiple reasons, but countless shows with fake out deaths and bad cliffhangers got us to this.

 

Going to watch Looper for the first time today. I had it confused with that Hayden Christensen movie Jumper for a while so I avoided it

Movies are officially too long

 

People convinced themselves that length is somehow an indication of quality. The three hour superhero films boggle the mind.

Best movies are an hour thirty, anything over 2 hours sits in my list forever because who has the time

I think it's case by case but judging a film's merit on its length is silly

 

Short films are short. Long films are long. Good films are good. Bad films are bad. Some good films are short. Some good films are long. Some bad films are short. Some bad films are long. Some short films are lo--wait.

Personally I'd prefer movies over 2 hrs. I feel like 1.5 he's is too short to actually say anything alot of times

 

An Adam Sandler movie or a superhero film isn't saying anything, though. For a serious drama, length is a different metric.
