did you know that apparently Mass Effect completely rips off the novel Revelation Space. I was just reading about this the other day.

The Illusive Man is a rip off of G Man from Half Life series

 

The comparison to the Illusive Man and the G-Man is a bit of a stretch. The Illusive Man isn't even all that mysterious; his real name and motivations are spelled out in other media I have not personally bothered to read. He is just Space Trump.

However, I had not heard of these connections to the Revelation Space book. Some of it is too generic of a science-fiction trope for anyone to claim ownership, but I looked up some other people talking about it and there are definitely some connections that feel a little too close to be accidental.

 

alot of hard sci fi does get regurgitated. i feel like theres tons out there but only a very small niche follows the genre. im not a bioware fan otherwise but i did love the old kotor games big time.

 

The Godfather one was pretty good. Idk how it holds up now but i liked it. Not Mafia level but good.

Mass Effect 2 is an all timer for me. Just incredible.

It is in my top ten games.

Since we are talking about influences and borrowing from other sources, Mass Effect 2's structure of building a team for a job owes a great debt to Seven Samurai. It is hard to ever be truly original with thousands of years of human storytelling.

Hmm. I'd like to be optimistic but I feel like actors always say they found a great story to revisit characters and the story hardly ever turns out to be great

 

Also wedding crashers is maybe the worst aged comedy I’ve ever seen.

 

Clearly, you haven't seen most of the 70's/80's comedies haha

A lot of the sexism/misogyny hasn't aged well at all but a lot of the lines/facial expressions still have some laughs in them. Wonder how they could do a part 2 that wasn't gross.
