If I ever made a list like that The Larry Sanders Show would really threaten the top spots. It is a harder pick because so much of what makes it work depends on your knowing the 1990's references, but if you are within the right age range it is such a great satire of Hollywood glamour.

Reading the comments, I see what I was thinking of:

    Where are:

    Married with Children
    Laverne and Shirley
(Is Happy Days on the list?)

This is part of the problem of trying to "objectively" assess film in general.

Margin Call is a REALLY good movie. Wish I hadn’t slept on it for this long.

Fantastic movie. Big fan of Chandor in general. Triple Frontier for life.

I watched The Warriors for the first time. It’s a fun ride and doesn’t overstay its welcome. I don’t know if it’s a *great* movie, but I can see why it’s a cult classic. Although I thought the final scene on the beach was weirdly anticlimactic.

Underneath all the ridiculous costumes and theatrics, you do get a real sense for how menacing 1970s New York was.

The last movies I have seen are Harriet, The Croods 2, Kong vs. Godzilla, Mortal Kombat, Step Up, The Fast and the Furious, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, and 2 Fast 2 Furious. I need a change of pace before my brain turns to mush.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas was for work since most of the great World War II movies are rated R. It was nauseating.

The local movie theater is showing each of the Fast and the Furious movies on Fridays until the new one comes out. I don't get the joke yet.

  21. A couple years ago, I was a chaperone on a World War II tour around Europe. On the bus ride to an actual concentration camp, we watched Boy in the Stripes Pajamas. That day was incredibly sobering, to say the very, very least.

I have always shown Saving Private Ryan for World War II, but my new school wouldn't allow it. I had not seen The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, but some of the kids ask for it. Few things surprise me in film, but being asked to sympathize with the leader of a concentration camp was pretty bold.

OH. See, I read that like it was in order lol. Like you finished F&F and thought "man, you know what'd hit the spot..."

Also fwiw, the first three FF are just plain garbage whereas everything after is absurd garbage.

I am planning on powering through it only because I missed movie theater popcorn.
