I’m not sure it’s possible to be objective about movies.

 

Logan Lucky absolutely rules and is a movie which never fails to turn my day around.

 

it is. not being able to be objective about art is a baffling hill to be on. dunkirk is objectively better than tiger land. armageddon is objectively better than transformers 3 or 4 or whatever they’re on. oceans 11 is objectively better than unsane. it isn’t that difficult.

Certain aspects of craft can be objectively better, & extreme cases can sometimes be fairly obvious, but there’s inherently a shit ton of subjectivity when it comes to art.

There are some film opinions that are so widely held that they might feel "objective", but it would be perfectly fine for someone to believe otherwise. A lot of people argue whether the Godfather Part I or II is better, but virtually everyone agrees the third film is the worst. However, if someone genuinely believes the third film is the highlight of the trilogy, they aren't "wrong". I'd rather hear their reasoning than the endless debates over more hotly argued topics.
