The Not-So-Secret Life of Terrence Malick

 

I have been trying to finish King of the Hill, and have only made it to the ninth season after all these months. It has really run out of ideas and become too far-fetched. It really strayed from its small-town focus.

 

I've been wanting to watch all of KOTH for ages.

 

Anyone in here ever watch Fortitude? Not sure if a 2nd season will ever happen, but it sure ended on a cliff...

I would love a followup,but honestly it's kinda been too long for me to really care anymore.

I remember the opening title sequence being one of the coolest things I've seen though.

 

Hopefully Fincher can come back to make something meaningful and go away from the trash novels.

 

Idk I'm pretty into Fincher's trashy period. None of it is as substantial and Zodiac or Se7en or The Social Networks, but it's kind of exciting to have someone making these sleek, pulpy thrillers.

How is Scott going to make that movie along with six more Alien films? Does he not know he is going to die?

 

I never thought it would be this difficult to get Prairie Home Companion tickets.
Two dates went on sale at noon today, I went on right away and chose 2 "Best Available," got nosebleeds. went back in to get more and there were only a handful of singles left in the whole place, and ended up losing my original seats. The guests haven't even been announced for these shows yet.

 

That's crazy. I didn't even realize that PHC was still a thing, or that the target demographic would be the type to buy up tickets immediately at on sale.

 

Second series has already aired in the UK...

 

Shows like that and the other ones NPR airs are the reason I got into podcasts in the first place

 

Chris Thile has been having on some great guests since he took over.
they've also been taking the show on the road a lot, so these being the first "home" shows this year probably factors in, too.

We are watching Avatar to teach the kids about colonization. This is as bland as I remember.

 

Can anyone recommend any good audiobooks? I'm up for anything as long as the person reading it isn't completely monotone.

 

Having to watch Avatar in World History (Imperialism) made me decide to show Dr. Strangelove for U.S. History (Cold War). I doubt they will get most of it but at least I can coast until Spring Break now.

 

The dinosaur noises in Avatar sound like they were directly taken from Jurassic Park.

 

Haven't listened to it yet, but comedian, Todd Barry just put out his book/audiobook.
