I used to listen to that soundtrack almost daily for months after it came out haha. It's pretty much an essential primer for what early-00's Christian rock was like.

  2. I was really struck/moved by the sheer empathy towards mental illness and trauma the film conveyed, all the whacky pseudoscience stuff aside.

Watched some of the Oscar nominated animated shorts. Thought Blind Vaysha was pretty cool.

  4. Conviction was pretty good up until the last scene of the last episode. I won't be too sad if it gets canceled. I'm still hoping Hayley Atwell becomes the next Doctor Who.

My daughter & I just watched the first episode of Guillermo Del Toro's Trollhunters on Netflix. Seems really well done, more cinematic than most kids tv series, and the voice cast is stacked. I got a little sad at the end when I saw that Anton Yelchin voices the protagonist.

Me and my fiancé occasionally watch that, and it's pretty enjoyable.

Did anyone of you watched the trailer of Belko Experiment. I just came across it and it has already made to my watch list.

The 4th and final season of Rectify has been added to netflix. I strongly recommend it. @Morrissey quit watching Friday Night Lights and try this

Quite possibly the best show of the last 5 years.

I've been meaning to check it out anyway, but if you're giving it that high of praise, maybe I should move it up my list.

It's just very different from Fargo or Breaking Bad (as examples) because it's not in any way a suspense. It's a slow-burn drama and feels more like Mad Men in that sense, just with completely different subject matter.

It's also only 30 episodes across all 4 seasons, so it's a quick watch.

Speaking of Friday Night Lights, as ludicrous as the show is, the central emotional core of the show is enough to make it intriguing television. It is a rare show that jettisons most of its cast and manages to replace it with meaningful characters (try watching the last two seasons of Oz). Some of this is personal experience bleeding into analysis (I played high school football and teach high schoolers today) but they manage to make Coach Taylor a three-dimensional character even if he too often acts as a flawless surrogate father.
