I've only seen Psycho and I think one of his earlier ones, I don't really want to watch his movies because he was a psychopath who tortured women

Fuck, I've seen twenty Hitchcock movies in the last month.

Seriously, I consider myself a fairly pedestrian film fan and I've seen at least 20 of his films.

My roommates are going to be gone for the week, which means I get to set up the DVD player in the living room and plow through all the DVDs I haven’t watched. They talk through every movie we watch, which is a crime that should get anyone sent to a re-education labor camp.

until you're watching Hereditary at night and lightning strikes and knocks out the power right at the height of Toni Collette's scream

The only movies that I ever even consider asking other people to go to with me are broad comedies.

Yeah I hate even watching movies at home with my girlfriend if I’m unsure whether or not she’ll enjoy it.

I stopped trying to recommend movies to people a long time ago. It just ended up being a giant waste of their time because it was not what they were expecting or what they want out of movies.

  13. If someone recommends something to me unsolicited there's like a 10% chance I'll watch it

But if I ask for a recommendation I feel obligated to watch it

My girlfriend and I watch movies together all the time. There’s just some I know or think she won’t like and keep those for myself.

  15. One of the best things is when I want to watch one thing, my wife wants to watch something else, so we agree to do our own thing for the night

I have no problem making my fiancé sit through my movies that she couldn't care less about lmao. She usually enjoys what I pick out though.

do you watch movies that she wants that you couldn’t care less about? That’s the only way it’s fair.

I saw Psycho for the first time in years in a theater last year and it almost gave me a panic attack. Still absolutely terrifying.

Psycho was the first movie I saw at the Music Box. Wonderful theater.

Oh yeah definitely. But I usually end up enjoying them anyways, it's just difficult to get me to want to watch something new sometimes haha. She's huge into true crime and I wasn't ever interested, but now I'm hooked. Same with some action films. I'm mostly into comedy, but she made me watch Aliens and it was incredible.

Be kind; everyone is on their own journey.

The new Pixar movie Soul is one of the best movies I have ever seen, full of different emotions and sooo needed to end 2020

Uncle Charlie's monologue in Shadow of a Doubt is still, for me, both the most disturbing and best piece of writing in any Hitchock film:
