Ah I thought they just have the name in common. When people talk about the show I never hear any familiar names

The fact that Freefrom is making shows out of bachelor contestants makes me wonder what's going on in the world. "Ben and Lauren happily ever after" now "the twins happily ever after". Who's next? Olivia? Chad?

Same music as the To the Wonder trailer.

That commercial will probably be a finalist for one of the best films of the year.

Glad I found someone that actually knows what I'm talking about! That movie was hilarious as a kid, one of my favorites

This documentary on sweatshops that I am showing the kids had a song from The Thin Red Line in it. It makes me want to watch that instead.

It is nothing great, a twenty minute piece about a guy who tried living as an Indonesian sweatshop worker. It is too Nineties for me.

Going to the movies tomorrow. Should I go see Split or Get Out?? The ladyfriend and I are horror movie fans, and both movies have received critical praise. We are wanting to see one or the other, so anyone who may have seen both have a recommendation of the better one??

I liked both. Get Out is significantly better.

Haven't seen Split yet, but Get Out is amazing. See it.

  18. What's your take on the criticism that Split is a misrepresentation of dissociative identity disorder? I haven't seen it myself, but I've heard about how the movie explains it as he's a more evolved human so he has multiple personalities

It's a pulpy exploitation movie. It's not attempting to represent any actual psychology or mental health accurately. That doesn't exempt it from criticism. I haven't looked in to any critique of the film on that level, but I enjoy plenty of problematic art while recognizing critiques of their issues.

Split also does some pretty fascinating exploration of cycles of abuse and survivorship and victimhood. It's a nuanced film.

Never thought I'd see an Extreme Days shoutout on this website haha. That movie was tailor-made for me as an 11 year-old.

Just Googled Extreme Days because it seemed familiar. I don't know if I've ever seen it, but I 100% remember that cover art.

Haha same. I was never a skateboarder myself or anything but loved X-Games and THPS game so that movie did it for me so much. I got really into PAX-217 after that movie too lol

I don't want to make a thread for it, but I watched the last Underworld movie and it was pretty blah. I actually liked the last 4 but the only good thing this one did was reveal what happened to Michael in a throw away scene. I'm ok if the series dies now.
