Amazing

 

Timeless season 1 just ended with one hell of a cliffhanger. Great season, possibly my favorite new show. Characters are great, plot is just the right amount of convoluted (never too mysterious or too revealing), all the time period costume and set design stuff is fantastic, and there are are historical figures in every episode.

Between declining ratings and a lawsuit with some Spanish drama about time travel, a second season is still in the air. I have faith in Kripke that subsequent seasons will continue to deliver, and a little less faith in NBC, who've prematurely canceled shows I've followed before (Hannibal).

The morality of the characters in Friday Night Lights is often portrayed as positive when they are doing awful things. Matt's grandmother just torpedoed his college aspirations by selfishly wanting to move back home even though she is no longer mentally competent, but the show portrays this as selfless devotion.

 

What the fuck is Sarah Jessica Parker wearing in any given scene of this show?

 

The way the new black players are portrayed in the fourth season of Friday Night Lights is pretty unforgivably racist so far. Did not expect that given the nuance in the other seasons.

 

Whenever people mention Friday Night Lights I always wonder if they mean the movie/book or the tv show. It's usually the latter but since I haven't seen it I always think of the former
