Mortal.Kombat rules but I never once concerned myself with the story. Need a Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat game one of these days.

  2. Are Mario Karts numbered?

The way NetherRealm does it, the cutscenes in Story Mode are basically a movie haha. I like Street Fighter more as a fighting game. Maybe it's just because I've played it longer and am more used to the controls. I find MK/Injustice to be kind of clunky, while SF feels more fluid.

Anyway, switching over to movies, I read a few reviews of The Hunt. I was already not interested, but now I'm even less interested. For something that boasts at being controversial, it sounds pretty toothless and middle-ground politically.

That's a logical move. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of that soon.

So many of his comments over the years have been that level of awful, but this one still manages to stand out.

Completely reasonable price for studios trying to recoup on the gigantic revenue they’re losing out on.

I do wonder if they’d see more rentals at a lower price point, and if that might benefit them more, but I don’t know what rental/on demand numbers look like based on price/movie’s release

19.99? That's more than the theaters and it's not some deal or anything. I used VUDU for buying movies that I'm impatient for. Brand new/early releases are always $20 or less. So this post making it seem like universal is giving you some deal? It's not. Disney releasing frozen 2 on plus early... that's neat.

$20 isn't reasonable for a single person but as people are saying for a family of 5 that's a huge savings or even a couple it's like 2 for the price of one

I wouldn't pay above $5-8 to rent a movie but I'm not the target audience

$20 isn’t that bad when it can be $15 for a single ticket on some markets. $5 more to not leave the house.

$20 makes sense for movies of this level. you’re high out of your mind if you think a studio is letting you stream/DL bond/blockbuster equivalents for 11-20. that shit is gonna be $40 a pop. the studio is still gonna want to replicate the cost of going to the theater for at home. maybe it’s a little less than 2 tickets each, but you aren’t getting it for the price of a burrito. they're going to build in for the price the anticipation of watching with multiple people, especially since i have been assuming this would become a future practice to phase out theaters long before COVID. i think it'll be the norm moving forward long after its gone.

Acting like universal is giving you some deal is foolish. Like I said. Getting movies still in theater has existed for a long time and the price point has always been... $20 (sometimes less). This is just business as usual, trying to make themselves seem like they're being generous

And movies of this level.......... invisible man

Probably plenty of couples/roommates though, in which case $19.99 is a deal. If you’re a single person, you’re paying for early access. If you want studios to be able to keep making movies, they need to be able to make some money from movies. COVID has made it a lot harder for movies currently in theaters/slated to be released over the next month to be able to make anywhere near what was expected.
