  1. Wait, did The Hunt still get released? Just saw an ad that said Now Playing. Because of course they wouldn't postpone that shit. Wow, so edgy.

Pretty sure it's out. There are showtimes at my local AMC. Debating on if I want to brave going or not.

i'd let it pass, for both health reasons and (apparently) quality control reasons

I mean, if I go, I'll go during a non peak time, sit away from anyone else and wipe the seat down. I have to go to work in a 16 floor office building every day so doesn't seem like it could be that much more dangerous.

be that as it may, you don’t know what’s in the air in the theaters, or how thoroughly it’s being dealt with, etc. No film is worth potentially endangering yourself/others, and i go to the movies at least once a week prior to this bullshit

that said, it’s your call. i just feel like i should leave it out there that it’s probably less safe than you or others might realize, even with the understanding that you could try be away from others and what have you

That's fair. I'm not trying to downplay anything and I agree, better safe than sorry. I'm just not flipping out about it either.

go to the movies man. Unless you're literally never leaving your house, go to the movies. But then again, I'm on the 'everyones freaking way way way too much" side of things so take that advice with a grain of salt

they are. Smart things like limiting events with mass people from all across the country and different areas. I buy that. You want to try and contain this thing as best as possible, and areas with lots of people that can bring it to different areas is the last thing we want. But if you're in fear that going to the movies in your town with 10 people in it... i'm sorry. that's freaking out way too much and not how this works. You're not going to stop peer to peer situations. Like I said, unless you're literatlly never leaving your house...which i know no one is going to do, then I don't see the difference.

I have friends who don't want to simply just come over and hang out. That's freaking out. That makes no sense.

People are acting like this is the happening. That you step outside and BAM you got it.

There was a decent cam of The Hunt out anyway so I decided to just stay home and watch that. But I'm leaning more towards agreeing with domo on this. You should absolutely be cautious but like he said, are you just never gonna leave your house?

there’s a difference between never leaving your house and not leaving for needless reasons to go to places that have pretty clearly been marked as places you should avoid. that seems pretty obvious.

Lots of people ARE going to do exactly that, and anyone who is able to make significant changes now is reducing the chance of it becoming required for everyone just a few weeks from now. We have truly no idea of how many people are spreading it each day, and making difficult decisions to take precautions against any possible contact is incredibly helpful, not “freaking out”.

sure, don't leave for needless reasons, but what places are clearly marked as places you should avoid and what places are "all clear"? I mean, I work in an office building with hundreds of people coming and going all day, touching everything, and I'm sitting 5 feet from the person next me. I can't miss work.

But going to a movie where I will encounter like 5 people the entire time and be sitting alone in a theater in a seat that I personally wipe down before sitting in... sounds like less of a risk to me, but I'm not a scientist.

I do understand that it's more a group effort to keep things at bay, and that if everyone is laxidasical about it, it will spread more. So I get it... Just seems like there's a little overreaction going on.

if you have groups you have to operate with out of necessity for work, why add extraneous gatherings to it when you could just as easy .... stream something at home lol

And please remember, this thing isn't about you, you will most likely be fine in any scenario. It's about the old folks, they underprivelaged and those work compromised immune systems that you would put in danger. Don't be selfish just because you'll be fine.

I'm not seeing my folks for a month. I usually see them, stay with them twice a week. I'm keeping my conctact circle limited and small but not zero. I'm hoping as long as we do that, the impact won't be so severre

  24. I don't feel welcome in the Video Games thread, so I'll just post this here.

Over the last couple weeks I've replayed MK9 and played MK10 and Doom. Just started Borderlands 3, which is on Steam finally.

Before playing MK10, I wanted to go through MK9's story again because I couldn't remember any of it. Now I remember why I couldn't remember it, it's so convoluted and, from what I've gathered, is basically a retelling of the first three games.

MK10's overall story is admittedly not much better, but with the flashbacks you really get a feel for the characters' backgrounds and motivations. And, of course, it improves on basically everything from the previous game. I'm not much of a fighting game-r, but NetherRealm is damn good at them. Looking forward to eventually getting Injustice 2 and MK11.

Finished Doom yesterday. (I had BL3 pre-loaded, but I still had a few Doom missions left.) Definitely a top-tier FPS alongside Bioshock: Infinite and Half-Life 2. Story is a little sparse, but the maps are stunning, and the fights, while tense at times, are so fun.

Haven't gotten through much of BL3 yet, but I've played each of the previous games with multiple characters, so I'm sure I'll enjoy this installment. Gives me something to do while I'm stuck at home.

  25. I had to Google MK9 to make sure it wasn't Mario kart lol

I can't say I've ever played a mortal Kombat. Maybe for snes.
