  1. Other than dine-in theaters, I've never had a full on meal at a theater like hot dogs or chicken strips. Just doesn't seem like a comfortable experience. I've had nachos, but not in years since they're the loudest food you could sell at a theater why would they do this.

I don’t know, hard candy in boxes can be unbelievably loud too.

  3. True. The worst is when somebody can't open a bag/wrapper, so we have to hear them wrestle with it for too long. The funniest is when someone sneaks a canned drink in and tries to conceal the sound of it opening, and it never works.

I don't go to theaters much. Either the local drive in where I bring takeout and can amuse my friend with delightful commentary in the privacy of the car, or I enjoy the dine in theaters but we don't have any of those here. Get too restless at like the big traditional amc theaters or whatever.

I can’t go to the movie theaters and not buy popcorn tbh.

I usually go to the movies once a week...

  7. Seeing movies on giant screens with surround sound is still a special experience for me. As much as I complain about it sometimes, there's nothing like it.

I definitely agree about the experience, but I just can't justify the prices anymore, especially here in LA

  9. Can't argue with that. I do go a lot less nowadays after moviepass died. I would need Cinemark to have a similar service like AMC A-list or Regal Unlimited to pull me back into going all the time like I used to.

Popcorn tastes fine but is like tiny kernels of knives stabbing my gums

I love the sound and screen but at my local theater I can’t go to a single screening without everyone around me talking

  12. I've usually had good luck with opening Thurs night showings and early bird/late night showings. Discount Tuesdays and Friday night crowds are consistently the worst for me.

no joke, one time I had major pain in my gums for like, 24 hours, and before you ask... yes i was brushing my teeth plenty and well. And then, at work in the bathroom, I got up in the mirror and looked close and saw a fucking kernal piece dug in. I pulled it out and it was bleeding pretty badly. the worst part? I don't even remember having popcorn anytime near when it happened. Fuck kernals.

I don't eat it often but late week I ate some and my gums were still sore like three days later. I brush and floss (well I've started flossing the last week lol) and I swear it still felt like I still had kernels in my mouth afterwards

The fake butter they put on movie theater popcorn makes me nauseous, plain salted popcorn is fine

Popcorn is mostly overrated except for the kimchi popcorn/truffle popcorn at The Alamo Drafthouse. Dat shit is hella good

We have an independent theater with tables and servers. It is pretty upscale, but I am rarely all the way in that part of town and their screenings are always sold out. It shows art and independent films, has only one screen, and is only open Friday to Sunday, so the only real option is weekend matinee.

As a kid I always used to eat Buncha Crunch or sour gummy worms at the movies. But these days, I do have to get a small popcorn every time

Omg my sis did a free trial of hbo with Amazon prime and forgot to cancel it so I have the entire month of hbo. Let's see how many times I can watch Notting Hill in a month

I’m watching Inglourious Basterds for the first time in 5-10 years probably and it’s still stellar. I’m not a QT fan necessarily but this is his best, imo
